Description The Spleenwort grows in the cracks of rocks.

The leaves of this plant spread radially from its stem.

It grows in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.

In Korea, it grows in Samdo of Jeju-do.The Natural Habitat of Spleenwort, which is also called 'Seopseom', is located in Samdo 0.45km south of the coast of Seoguipo.

Because people cut these plants off thoughtlessly at one time, it was in danger of extinction once.

Through several years of repair works, however, there is some growing now.

Since Samdo Spleenwort Colony of Jeju is the nothernmost habitat where this plant can grow naturally and is also biologically valuable, it is designated and protected as a natural monument.
