Description Ginip-neutinamu(long-leaved zelkova tree), a variation of Neutinamu(Zelkivas), is a rare tree which is found only in Korea, and its leaves are longer and narrow.

Ginip-neutinamu in Dogye-eup is about 1,000 years old.

It is 30m high and 9.10m wide.

It was worshipped as a tree sacred to tutelary deity by villagers and became an object to wish for happiness, peace and prosperity.

In old times, many scholars took shelter here from the war.

Therefore, when the college entrance season comes, some parents offer a devout prayer to wish for their sons and daughters' successful entrance to college.

According to a legend, since the tree was situated in the school playground, villagers decieded to change the tree sacred to tutelary deity.

Suddenly, there were a bolt of thunder and a flash of lightning.

Ginip-neutinamu in Dogye-eup has lived under the attention and care of villagers and is valued highly for its academic and cultural implication.

Therefore it is designatied and protected as a natural monument.
