| Description |
A piece of clothing, excavated from the joint burial tomb of Yi Ji-young (Yi Cheon-gi's third son), and his wife identified as Hwang from Pyeonghae.
This dress bears a close resemblance to jangot, a long hood worn by Korean women in ancient times to hide their faces when they went out.
The relic was severely discolored, so it is impossible to know the original color.
However, the dress, produced in a five-shaft satin weave, still maintains the characteristic luxurious design pattern of nanbongmun.
A kind of bonghwangmun (phoenix pattern), the nanbongmun depicts a pair of phoenix with long splendid tails that face each other.
¡Ø The name of this cultural property, designated as Important Folklore Material No.
37-3, changed from Unmundanjiknyeongpo to Nanbonghwamundangyeopjangot on June 18, 2004.
