| Description |
A thick cotton-padded jangot in deep blue color excavated from the tomb of Yi Cheon-gi's wife, who is identified as Park from Heungryeo.
The dress measures 124cm in total length, 57cm in width and 90cm in sleeve length.
The collar strip and the outer collars on both sides are all composed of two pieces.
The sleeves are almost in a straight line and at the end of each sleeve is attached a folded part called taesu.
Under the armpits are attached the square-shaped cloths.
In the 18th century, women used to wear jangot to hide their faces when they went out.
But given the location of the breast-ties, it is believed that this served as an outdoor garment for women in the 17th century.
¡Ø The name of this cultural property, designated as Important Folklore Material No.
37-4, changed from Acheongsaekjingnyeongpo to Myeonposomjangot on June 18, 2004.
