It is believed that Kim wore this garment at ordinary times.
Cheollik is a garment that civil and military officials put on during the Joseon Dynasty when they were dispatched as envoys to foreign countries, were in a national crisis or escorted the king.? With the wide sleeves, the garment is in the form of a jacket in the upper part and a skirt in the lower part.
On the waist are pleats.
The jacket-style upper part is rather short and under the armpits are attached a different kind of cloth called mu.
The garment also has quite wide hoejang (colorful strips of cloth for trimmings) and samsu (cuffs), and an antique-style double collar.
The upper part of the garment offers great help in studying jeogori (jacket) of the Silla and Goryeo Dynasties.
A skirt with fine pleats is connected to this jacket.
As a garment from the early Joseon period, it has a right-angled collar.
Particularly noteworthy is the fact that women also wore cheollik during the period.
Showing the early form of cheollik, this garment is considered to be a valuable material for the study of Korean costume history.
